The government has declared Tuesday, December 27 and Monday, January 2, as public holidays Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Thursday told the Eagle News Feed the two days will be observed as public holidays giving Kenyans a four-day Christmas weekend. This year’s Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on Sundays while Boxing Day is on a Monday. This has necessitated the move to declare the two days public holidays. Motorists using the Nairobi Expressway will soon be allowed to pay via M-Pesa. Moja Expressway Company which runs the 27-kilometer highway has announced Thursday, December 22 M-Pesa will officially be availed as a payment option. Police in Kitengela is investigating the death of a 24-year-old man who is suspected to have committed suicide after killing his 23-year-old girlfriend.
