Azimio la Umoja cancelled a planned anti-government rally in Kamkunji in Nairobi.
The last-minute decision was made Tuesday after a meeting of Azimio La Umoja leaders.
The rally that was to culminate into a peaceful demonstration within City Centre will now take place on December 7, 2022, officials said.
Addressing a press conference after the coalition’s Parliamentary Group meeting at SKM Command Center in Karen, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi said the decision was to allow for the completion of ongoing national examinations.
“We have to reschedule the start of our public engagements to December 7 due to the ongoing national examinations,” Wandayi said.
The meeting was attended by ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and ex-Defence CS Eugine Wamalwa.
