Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates arrived in Nairobi, Kenya on Tuesday November 15 ahead of planned meetings with government officials and the private sector community.
He says he will be visiting with doctors and nurses in primary health clinics and maternity wards.
He will also visit Kenya Medical Research Institute.
At the same time, he will be visiting smallholder farmers outside Nairobi to understand their challenges.
Later in the week, he will give a talk to students at the University of Nairobi.
On Tuesday, Gates was scheduled to tour Makueni County and meet Governor Mutula Kilonzo at his office.
He was set to visit the Makueni Mother and Child hospital, which mainly deals with mother and child healthcare and later visit Kathonzweni Health Centre where he is expected to meet health volunteers.
Gates will later meet two farmers in Kathonzweni who are championing for Climate Change and are farming through irrigation
On Thursday, November 17, Bill Gates is expected to give a talk on Innovating for Food Security and Climate Change in Africa.
The American businessman is the founder of the Melinda and Gates Foundation, works to help all people lead healthy, productive lives.
The foundation focuses on improving people’s health and giving them the chance to lift themselves out of hunger and extreme poverty.
