Five individuals appeared before an Eldoret Court accused of conspiring to defraud Robert Kipkemei Keter, John Kipkemboi Chumba, William Bitok, Lenah Jelimo, and Edwin Boit of their shares of a parcel of land in Ngeria.

The court was informed that between March 5, 2001, and February 15, 2022, the accused, along with others not present in court, conspired to defraud the aforementioned persons of their land, which measures approximately 20 acres and is valued at around Sh.20 million.

They allegedly did this by falsely pretending to be the legitimate owners of the property.

The five accused individuals, Tamar Cheptoo Birgen, Paul Kirwa Samoei, Julius Kipkosgey Ruto, and Jacob Kiplagat Too, appeared before Eldoret Principal Magistrate Kimani Mukabi and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court granted them a bond of Sh.500,000 with a similar surety or an alternative cash bail of Ksh.200,000.

The case is scheduled for mention on August 22, 2024.
