Gachagua’s Security Arrangements Restored

Impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s security detail has been partially restored, as announced by Kiambu Senator Karung’o Thang’wa.

In a statement made on Sunday, October 27, Thang’wa confirmed the reinstatement, calling on the government to also reinstate Gachagua’s staff.

“Justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done,” he emphasized.

Thang’wa’s remarks came after he joined Gachagua for a Sunday service at ACK Cathedral in Kiambu Town.

He shared that the provost delivered an uplifting sermon, encouraging attendees to continue praising and praying.

In a show of political support, Thang’wa expressed confidence that Gachagua would prevail in the ongoing legal challenges related to his impeachment.

“Just as God freed Paul and Silas, He will also break our chains,” he stated.

Accompanying Gachagua at the church service were several notable leaders, including Nyandarua Senator John Methu, Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu, and various Members of Parliament such as Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba and Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina.

The gathering also included Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru, Nominated MP Teresiah Wanjiru, and former Kakamega Senator Cleopas Malala.

Thang’wa’s announcement follows a troubling incident where Gachagua’s security was reportedly withdrawn while he was receiving treatment at Karen Hospital.

On October 20, Gachagua expressed his dismay over the withdrawal of his security detail during his hospitalization, criticizing the government for taking such action.

“It’s unfortunate that while I was in the hospital, President William Ruto ordered my security be removed.

Guards at my home in Nyeri and Karen were also disarmed,” Gachagua stated.

He expressed his astonishment at Ruto’s actions, highlighting his loyalty during previous political struggles.

“I never expected this from someone I supported so fiercely,” he added, emphasizing the shock of facing such treatment while in a vulnerable state.
