The Makueni County Commissioner, Henry Wafula, has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in gender-based violence and the defilement of minors. He emphasized that those found guilty would face prosecution under the law.
Wafula urged citizens to report any instances of gender-based violence or defilement to enable swift action by the government.
He also called on local leaders to support these efforts by condemning such acts against women and children in the county.
“We won’t tolerate adults defiling young children. Offenders will face the consequences as per the law,” Wafula stated during a meeting in Kibwezi town.

He encouraged the public and the media to provide information to law enforcement agencies to combat this disturbing trend.
“The government relies on information from its people to address these issues effectively,” he added.
Wafula reassured the public that the government was actively pursuing individuals who exploit minors, such as the case of someone who promised to sponsor a girl’s education but instead sexually abused her.
“We will apprehend these offenders, and they will have nowhere to hide,” he warned.
Regarding drug abuse, Wafula emphasized the government’s commitment to tackling the problem to prevent its negative impact on the youth and society as a whole.
Earlier in the week, Makueni County Woman Representative Rose Museo led a peaceful demonstration against the rising cases of gender-based violence and defilement in Kibwezi town, highlighting the community’s concern over these issues.
