A Nairobi Member of the County Assembly was Friday attacked and stabbed in the neck by people who were demanding money from him.
Jubilee Utawala MCA Patrick Karani was rushed to the hospital after the knife stab.
Witnesses said the incident happened in his car after a brief confrontation.
The attacker was in the company of others when they confronted the MCA demanding that he gives them money he owed them.
And in the confrontation and confusion, one of them stabbed him in the neck before they escaped.
The incident happened in the Mlolongo area.
Karani was rushed to the Aga Khan Hospital where he was treated and discharged.
Doctors said the MCA was lucky as the stab was not deep.
He reported the matter to the police who said investigators are pursuing the said attacker.
Police said they want to know if the attacker had a history with the victim.
Karani is a second term MCA.
A group of his colleagues visited him in the hospital.
They said he was out of danger and that he had been discharged.
His neck was bandaged where he was injured.
