President William Ruto made new nominations to his Cabinet, in a move set to see former politicians make a comeback to government.
In the changes announced by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, the head of state has nominated former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo to be CS for Information, Communication and The Digital Economy.
Mutahi Kagwe, who served as Health Cabinet Secretary during former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime, was nominated by Ruto as Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture.
Also set to make a comeback is former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui who has been nominated to be CS for Investment, Trade and Industry.
Ruto reassigned Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen to be in charge of the Interior Ministry which was left vacant following the appointment of Kithure Kindiki as Deputy President.
The appointment of Murkomen is part of new Cabinet nominations and reassignements made by President Ruto on Thursday.

Immediate former ICT CS Margret Nyambura was named the new High Commissioner to Ghana while that of Agriculture Andrew Karanja will be the new ambassador to Brazil.
Former minister Nderitu Muriithi was named the new chairman of the board of Kenya Revenue Authority to replace Anthony Mwaura who moved to Kenya Rural Roads Authority as the chairman while Kembi Gitura was named the chairman of Kenyatta University Teachers Referral and Research Hospital
