Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma is facing criticism after a video surfaced showing him making remarks perceived as threatening opposition supporters and those accused of working with his political rivals.
In the footage, Kaluma appeared to warn people associated with the opposition against remaining on the opposing side, including those working for or alongside his political camp.
He also appeared to caution hotel owners in Homa Bay Town against hosting opposition figures, suggesting their businesses could face consequences.
Kaluma described Homa Bay as an ODM stronghold while declaring his support for President William Ruto serving a second term. He further appeared to warn those advocating for a single presidential term.
The remarks have drawn calls for action, with Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina urging authorities to arrest and prosecute the MP.
Maina called on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate the comments, arguing that similar remarks by political leaders have previously attracted swift enforcement action.
Meanwhile, a separate political row has erupted between former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa and Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.

Duale recently claimed he had helped Jumwa understand Cabinet papers during their time as Cabinet colleagues, remarks that Jumwa strongly disputed.
Jumwa said Duale rarely spoke to her while they served in Cabinet, except during an incident involving former Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho.
She alleged that Duale confronted her after she took Joho to meet President William Ruto at State House, accusing him of insulting her over the decision.
Jumwa said Duale dismissed her when she attempted to explain the circumstances surrounding the meeting and accused him of hypocrisy over his latest remarks about her.
