A forthcoming agreement between Kenya and Germany promises to create job opportunities for a quarter of a million Kenyans, according to President William Ruto.
Speaking during a cabinet retreat in Naivasha, Nakuru County, Ruto revealed that Germany has agreed to welcome 250,000 Kenyans with various levels of skills to fulfill its labor demands.
Ruto, alongside Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu, disclosed plans to finalize the deal within the next four months.

“Roseline just returned from Germany. We’re close to finalizing an agreement with the German government to provide 250,000 job opportunities before June. Similar negotiations are ongoing with other countries,” stated Ruto.
The President emphasized the need for collaboration from legislators to facilitate the realization of job opportunities for Kenyan youths.
“There are abundant job opportunities globally, and our youth are ready. We must bridge this gap and connect them with these opportunities.
Any responsible leader should heed this call and take action,” Ruto emphasized.
Ruto also expressed concern over the low number of Kenyan nurses deployed to Saudi Arabia, highlighting that only 500 out of 2,500 required have been deployed.
He urged leaders to support efforts by the Health Ministry to ensure the deployment of the remaining nurses and explore new opportunities for interested individuals.
