Kenya has secured a Sh.22.8 billion ($175 million) investment agreement with Coca-Cola, set to span the next five years.
This announcement was made by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on Tuesday, following President William Ruto’s visit to Coca-Cola’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, accompanied by other Kenyan leaders.
Trade and Investments Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano emphasized that the partnership is expected to significantly contribute to job creation and economic growth in Kenya.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja also expressed his confidence, stating that this initiative will generate numerous employment opportunities for Nairobi residents.
This meeting was a key part of President Ruto’s week-long visit to the United States.
Coca-Cola, which established its first bottling plant in Nairobi 76 years ago, currently employs 3,000 Kenyans directly and supports another 37,000 jobs indirectly.
