Man, 60 Slashes Wife To Death In Domestic Quarrel In Village In Nyamira


A 60-year-old man was arrested after he slashed and killed his wife in a domestic fight in Bosamaro village, Nyamira county.

Beatrice Bosibori Nyabuti, 45 bled to death in a car as she was being rushed to hospital following the Tuesday incident, police said.

A driver who was carrying her to the hospital drove to a police station after realizing she had died.

He told police she was cut in the left leg with a panga by her husband following a domestic fight.

The body was moved to the mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.

The husband was arrested pending a probe and possible murder prosecution.

Such domestic incidents are common in the region amid campaigns to address the trend.

In Bidinimole village within the Mwereni location, Kwale, one Mwangale Mabumbo, 34 who was staying alone after separating from his wife following a family dispute was found dead in a pool of blood along a footpath.

Police said he had deep cuts on his head.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy, police said.

Meanwhile, two people were killed when a vehicle they were traveling in rolled in Marsabit.

Police said the incident happened in the Seresipien area along Koya-Laisamis Murram road and involved a Toyota Hilux double cabin vehicle with ten people on board.

The vehicle driver lost control forcing it to veer off the road and roll killing two of the passengers on board.

The driver and the other nine passengers sustained serious injuries and were all rushed to Laisamis sub-county hospital for treatment, police said.

Police are investigating the incident.
