Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has praised his wife with kind words.
The two couples have been together since 2015 and are now proud parents.
On a quick review of his life journey, the ODM party Secretary General also recalled quitting a Sh400k white-collar job to hustle. He started running a small law firm earning sh50k, and writing newspaper articles that earned him sh60k a month.
Sharing an insight into their family life, he spoke extensively about his wife in a podcast with Mic Cheque.
“My wife is from Matungu. In our tradition, you cannot be elected if you do not have a wife. In 2015, I had to officially take her as my wife by paying her dowry.”
When asked if he opposes his wife at home, Sifuna described himself as a rude person who lets his wife lead.
“She is more educated than me. I respect her a lot and I don’t argue with her. She is an environmental lawyer with a master’s degree. She was working as a KWS prosecutor. Her upbringing in Loresho, where his father was a member of parliament, shaped her,” he shared.
Sifuna emphasized the importance of having a strong partner.
Sifuna added that when his mother lives in fear that his son will be harmed, his wife always encourages him to pray for him.
The smallest thing is that Sifuna praised his wife for introducing her to the use of perfumes and perfumes.
“Like when we appointed Raila, my mother was depressed and lived in fear that I might be killed for having a loud voice in politics. She called my wife and told her not to let me leave the house. But my wife told him that was my job and the only thing he could do was pray for me.”
Despite starting with a low income, Sifuna proved his loyalty to his wife. “I have always been faithful. I have never been interested in other women,” he insisted, adding with a laugh.
However, Sifuna also spoke on several other issues including his ideas of leadership, his vision for youth in the electoral process, advocacy on disability, and developmental policies.
