Raymond Omollo, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration, has highlighted the benefits that Nyanza will receive following President William Ruto’s recent visit.

Ruto completed his four-day tour of the Nyanza region in Kisumu on Saturday, August 30, 2024, where he launched a series of significant projects and addressed an enthusiastic crowd.

Omollo, who accompanied the President during the visit, outlined the key benefits that the region will gain.

He detailed the transformative projects that were inaugurated, stating, “On the final day of President William Ruto’s development tour of Nyanza, we joined him in Kisumu County to oversee several major initiatives.”

Among the notable projects were the groundbreaking of the Lake Victoria Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre.

This facility is expected to improve safety on the lake and enhance maritime activities.

Additionally, the commissioning of the Kibos Rice Mill will revolutionize local agriculture, empowering farmers and stimulating economic growth in the area.

The visit also saw the foundation-laying ceremony for the Lumumba Affordable Housing project.

This initiative represents a significant step toward providing quality, affordable housing for Kisumu residents.

Furthermore, the inauguration of the Nyabondo Trauma Centre will greatly enhance access to critical healthcare services in the region.

Omollo expressed gratitude for the President’s visit, noting, “We are thankful for President Ruto’s commitment to advancing these impactful development projects and programs that have been witnessed across the country.”

He concluded his statement by emphasizing the positive impact of the visit, “We extend our appreciation to President Ruto for his deliberate efforts in driving these transformative projects in Nyanza.”
