Road Safety Awareness Initiative By Milimani Traffic Court And Stakeholders

Milimani Traffic Court, in conjunction with various stakeholders, is set to host a Traffic Open Day from March 20th to March 22nd, aimed at raising awareness among the public and road users regarding road safety issues.

The event, themed “Kaa Rada Kwa Rodi,” seeks to explore strategies to improve road safety and reduce accidents and traffic violations in the region.

A directive from the Judiciary’s Directorate of Public Affairs & Communication outlines the schedule for the three-day initiative.

The activities planned for the Open Day include a caravan tour along designated routes in Nairobi on March 20th and 21st, followed by a procession, speeches, and interactive sessions on March 22nd at the Kenya National Archives.

According to the directive, the caravan will traverse specific roads each day, covering key areas of concern.

For instance, on Day 1, the caravan will travel from Milimani Law Courts to Kangundo Road, passing through various significant points such as NHIF junction and Jogoo Road.

Similarly, on Day 2, the caravan route will include essential locations like Moi Avenue roundabout and CBD through Super Highway, addressing different aspects of road safety along the way.

The final day will witness a procession from Milimani Law Courts to the National Archives, focusing on areas such as pedestrian safety and adherence to traffic regulations.

Noteworthy participants in the event include traffic police, NTSA, County Government representatives, ODPP, and Kenya Prisons, among others.

Various concerns have been highlighted by stakeholders, including school children’s safety, reckless driving, and issues related to pedestrian crossings and footbridges.

These issues will be addressed through public awareness and engagement during the Traffic Open Day.
