Ruto Reshuffles Kenya’s Foreign Service With Key Nominations


President William Ruto has announced a series of new nominations and redeployments within Kenya’s Foreign Service, as part of an ongoing realignment aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and delivery of the country’s international engagements.

The Executive Action, undertaken today, reflects the President’s commitment to optimizing the performance of the Foreign Service in line with the Administration’s Manifesto under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

In accordance with Article 132 (2)(e) of the Constitution, the following Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Consul Generals, and Deputy Heads of Mission have been nominated or redeployed:

 

High Commissioners and Ambassadors

  • Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Amb. Galma Mukhe Boru
  • Ankara, Turkey – Amb. Anthony Mwaniki Muchiri
  • Bangkok, Thailand – Amb. Lucy Kiruthu
  • Bujumbura, Burundi – Mr. Henry Wambuma

President Ruto has submitted the relevant nominations to the National Assembly for vetting and approval, as required by the Constitution.

The appointments are expected to bolster Kenya’s diplomatic presence and strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations across key global regions.

These changes mark a continued effort by the Ruto Administration to align Kenya’s foreign engagements with national development priorities and global strategic interests.
