There is heightened security in Sondu town, which is on the border of Kisumu and Kericho counties.

This comes after a disturbing incident last night where three people lost their lives.

The Kisumu County Security team, led by County Commissioner Hussein Alason Hussein, has taken action.

The security team has gathered at the Anti-Stock Theft Unit base in Tol.

They are waiting for the security committee from the Soin Sigowet sub-county to join them.

Once they are together, they will visit the areas affected by the recent attack.

To prevent any more trouble, there is a strong police presence in and around Sondu market.

They want to make sure that the situation doesn’t get worse.

Earlier in the day, anti-riot police officers had to disperse young people who had blocked the Katito-Sondu road at Nyabondo junction.

Kisumu County Governor, Prof Anyang Nyong’o, expressed his concern in a statement.

He called the incident unfortunate, especially considering the President’s upcoming visit to the region.

He said, “I hope that we should find a lasting solution because it’s very unfortunate that on the eve of the president’s visits, someone initiated the clashes at the border.”

The governor also urged the national government to act quickly and catch the people responsible for the attack.

He wants justice for the families affected by this tragic event.
