Sex Worker Admits To Fatally Stabbing Colleague During Bar Fight

Three days before Christmas at Club 42 Bar in Salgaa Trading Centre, Rongai, Nakuru County, a night out for two women who worked as commercial sex workers turned into a tragic event.

Mercy Chepkurui Koskey and Mary Nduta Wanyoro got into a fight around 3am when Chepkurui accidentally stepped on Nduta at the club’s entrance.

Despite Chepkurui immediately saying sorry, Nduta slapped her, and a scuffle broke out that other customers had to stop.

After a short while, Chepkurui came back with a hidden kitchen knife and stabbed Nduta in the neck during another argument.

Nduta passed away from her injuries after being taken to a nearby clinic, which led Salgaa Police Station to start an investigation.

Detectives found and arrested Chepkurui, who has two children, at a local community leader’s house.

At first, Chepkurui said she didn’t commit murder, but later she admitted it when she made a deal with the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The DPP suggested she should get a 20-year prison term instead of being sentenced to death because she admitted what she did and the way things happened.

Judge Samuel Muhochi is in charge of the case, and the next court date is July 29.

Chepkurui started doing sex work after she left her husband. Now, she has to face the law for what happened with Nduta, who had three kids.
