The family of the late renowned Reggae MC and radio host Njambi Koikai has suffered a second heartbreaking loss with the death of her father, Daniel Koikai.
A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, reported that Daniel Koikai’s body was discovered at his residence on Friday morning, the very day his daughter was to be interred at Lang’ata Cemetery.
This tragic event follows closely after Daniel Koikai attended Njambi’s funeral service at the Nairobi Chapel. During the service, he described her passing as both sudden and unexpected.
“Dear Njambi, my daughter, the time has come for me to atone for my acts of omission or commission on your final journey from this world.
The large following you were able to martial was a testament to your ability as an influential personality,” he said in his eulogy on Thursday.
He also expressed sorrow over the abrupt end to Njambi’s promising career, noting, “Your sudden and unexpected death cut short your very bright and promising career at a time you had already entered the political arena, and having vied to be an MP for Dagoretti South in the 2022 election where you came an impressive fourth.”
