A 30-year-old woman was found dead in her house after a suspected murder in Kakamega Town’s Kurdi area.
Neighbours said they had not seen Purity Onyina for a day which raised their concerns on her whereabouts.
They went and pushed the door to her single room and found it open.
The neighbours told police the body was found lying on bed before alerting the authorities.
It was later established the woman had neck injuries suggesting she may have been strangled.
The motive of the October 6, 2025 murder was not immediately established.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police said.
No arrest has been made so far.
In Imenti, Meru County’s Kathwene village, a woman was killed by her husband in a domestic fight.
The body of Peninna Gakii, 40 was found in her bedroom long after she had been killed.
Police said the body had severe injuries believed to have been incurred by a blunt object.
Blood was oozing from her mouth and nostrils when the body was discovered, police said.
Police said they arrested a man believed to be her husband over the murder and recovered a wooden stick that was used in the mission.
