They Thursday appeared before the Kisii Law Court over an incident where Baby Junior Sagini’s eyes were removed in their Ikuruma village. Police are holding three suspects after they recovered two rifles and assorted goods in an operation at Kipkenyo Area within Kapseret Sub County. Officers from Simat Police Station Thursday staged the operation following a tip-off from locals. From the search conducted at the homes of the suspects, police officers recovered two AK 47 rifles, magazines, assorted motor vehicle registration plates, police jungle uniforms, and fake motor vehicle logbooks among other items. The government has declared Tuesday, December 27 and Monday, January 2, as public holidays Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Thursday told the Eagle News Feed the two days will be observed as public holidays giving Kenyans a four-day Christmas weekend. This year’s Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on Sundays while Boxing Day is on a Monday. This has necessitated the move to declare the two days public holidays.
