
Manchester United has bid farewell to goalkeeper David de Gea following his decision to leave the club after an illustrious 12-year tenure at Old Trafford.

Taking to Twitter, De Gea expressed his gratitude to the Manchester United supporters, stating, “I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters. I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years.”
He further reflected on the achievements made during his time at the club, mentioning the pride he felt in representing the institution and leading the team.
De Gea acknowledged that it was now the right time for him to embark on a new challenge and push himself in a different environment while expressing his deep connection to Manchester.
The official channels of Manchester United also confirmed the news, labeling De Gea as a legend.
Over his tenure, the Spanish international made more than 500 appearances for the club, securing accolades such as a Premier League title, an FA Cup, two League Cups, three Community Shields, and the UEFA Europa League.
Manager Erik ten Hag praised De Gea’s accomplishments, acknowledging the exceptional level of quality and character required to achieve such longevity and success in the goalkeeping position.

While two initial offers have been rebuffed, the club remains optimistic that a £45 million package will be sufficient to finalize the deal.
