Drama as Ruto Promised Wheelbarrow to a Retiring ACK Bishop

President William Ruto last weekend broke the ribs of ACK church members in Nyeri after mentioning the kind of gift he will buy for the retiring bishop.

Ruto was among hundreds of ACK believers who flocked to the Anglican church of St Peter’s Cathedral in Nyeri for an event to celebrate Bishop Joseph Kagunda who is going to retire.

Kagunda has been the bishop of ACK branch in Wester Kenya for 20 years and was celebrated when he was preparing to hand over the responsibilities of the church to a new leadership that has been mentioned as controversial by many.

During his speech, President Ruto joked he was aiming to buy Kagunda a car as a retirement gift, but after finding out that the church believers forced him to do so, he changed his mind and said he will buy him a trolley.

“Thank you very much to this friend of mine, Bishop Kaunda, I thought I would buy him a car but you have done a good job and bought him one, now what is left for me is buying him wheelbarrow.” He said while the congregation bust into a laughter that forced him to laugh too.

The national leader continued to tell the bishop that next week he should visit him to see him so that he can get his gift. The video went viral on social media with some Kenyans mocking it and others taking it as a joke.
