The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has alerted the public about fraudulent recruitment letters circulating, which falsely claim to be official communications from KWS.
In a statement released on Wednesday, KWS identified one such letter as fraudulent, which claimed that a candidate had been shortlisted for recruitment and needed to proceed to the academy in Manyani for further vetting.
“The attention of Kenya Wildlife Service has been drawn to fake calling letters being issued by fraudsters.
We strongly advise the public to be vigilant of the fake letters and report the fraudsters to the nearest KWS Station or Police Station.
‘As stated in the advert and at all recruitment centres, the recruitment process was free of charge.
Kaa Chonjo, Usidanganywe!'” said KWS.

Last month, KWS conducted a five-day nationwide recruitment drive to enlist cadets (Assistant Warden I) and rangers, aiming to fill 1,500 positions.
The recruitment advertisement, published in the My Gov pull-out on March 19th, specified that all successful applicants would undergo mandatory paramilitary training at the Law Enforcement Academy in Manyani.
Following training, recruits will be assigned to one of the eight conservation areas under KWS’s management: Tsavo, Eastern, Mountain, Southern, Coast, Central Rift, Northern, and Western.
