Authorities are investigating an incident in which a group of fishermen say they were attacked and robbed of their fish near an island in Lake Victoria.
Two of the fishermen from Migori said they were injured in the attack.
The incident happened on January 10, police said.
The group was on a fishing expedition in Lake Victoria near Rukunga Island on the Tanzanian side when unknown assailants attacked them believed to be Tanzanians.

They said they were also robbed of 85 kilos of fish by the attackers before they escaped on their boats.
Upon crossing the Kenyan side at Muhurubay, they proceeded to Tagache Sub County Hospital where they were treated and discharged fairly.
They later reported the matter to the police.
This is the latest such incident to happen and affects fishermen on the waters.
Such disputes in fishing areas are usually solved after meetings among officials.
