In Kayole, Embakasi area, a significant event unfolded as 16 children were rescued from a house in the Soweto neighborhood.
The story began when Daniel Odongo, a children protection officer in Embakasi Central constituency, alerted the police about the situation.
“Odongo informed the police of the presence of the children in a plot within Nyando area.”

They found the children in a rental house consisting of only two rooms.
What caught their attention was the lack of explanation from the individuals responsible for the children’s custody.
Linet Akinyi, a Kenyan, and Isaack Mwanjeka, a Tanzanian national, were promptly arrested.
“The two could not explain what the children were doing in their custody.”
There were suspicions that the children might have been destined for trafficking, but the exact intentions remained unclear.
As the investigation unfolds, both suspects are being held in custody.
