Honda Issues Recall For Their Vehicles Engine Concerns

Honda has initiated a recall affecting nearly 250,000 vehicles due to a manufacturing glitch that poses a potential threat to the engine.

As per a statement filed by the automaker with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue revolves around a faulty connecting rod bearing in the engines of Acura and Honda models.

This defect has the potential to cause the engine to “run improperly or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.”

The recall spans multiple models, including the 2015-2020 Acura TLX and the 2016-2020 MDX.

Additionally, certain units of the 2018 and 2019 Honda Odysseys, 2016, 2018, and 2019 Pilots, as well as Ridgelines manufactured between 2017 and 2019, are also susceptible to the issue.

Remarkably, this marks Honda’s 14th recall of the year and ranks as the fifth largest.

With this latest recall, the tally of Honda vehicles recalled in 2023 has now surpassed the three million mark.

Honda has assured affected owners that they will be notified by letter in early January.

Dealerships will undertake the necessary inspections, repairs, and engine replacements free of charge.
